Joan! - Framed Original

JOAN! An original collage complete in 135 year old vintage frame. This original piece, in its frame, measures approx 29 x 24cm edge to edge. The quote is actually the tag line for the 1953 movie "Niagara" which starred Marilyn Monroe, not Crawford - though the quote is an ideal tagline for all powerful women, in and out of Hollywood!

The frame was crafted in 1891 by Arthur H Staples of London - original label is still on the reverse of the frame. Original glass too, this frame is a work of art in itself!

Collage art made in Oxfordshire, England by me, Levi Miller. Each original is signed on the reverse of the mount, a one of a kind piece, that hasn't cost a fortune and wont be found anywhere else in the world. A little piece of specialty magic, this bit of Joan Crawford is totally unique - just like the leading lady herself! 

I'm an Irish artist living in the UK countryside, working with vintage books and magazines, salvaged materials, old second hand frames etc as well as my own illustrations, photography and writing. My work is heavily influenced by music, vintage aesthetics, visuals and art from 1800s to art deco, mid-century to 1980's neon, and everything in-between and beyond with an extra focus on the themes of positivity, mental health, LGBTQAI+ and equality messaging (among lots of other things).

As this artwork is made from original printed materials like books and magazines, they may fade when exposed to strong or direct light for extended periods. For best longevity of your piece, keep away from strong and direct light, and sources of moisture or humidity.
